Extracurricular Activities

Extracurricular activities and what are commonly called “specials” are a valuable element in all schools, but can be of unique benefit for students with social and developmental challenges.

Classes such as music, art, and physical education often allow an outlet for a child to excel when other subjects can be challenging. They can be a place of mutual connection for students in the school of all abilities, and have proven benefits when it comes to cognitive and social development.

Music, art, and physical education classes at Wind Rose Academy will be classes in which multiple ages can attend simultaneously, helping build school spirit and social interaction in and among students.

Field trips and clubs also play a role in enriching a student’s school experience by helping them stretch their social wings.

It is the goal of Wind Rose Academy to make extracurricular activities an enriching part of a student’s academic experience.
